By downloading or using Squeeeks, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Squeeeks is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"). These terms add to the Apple EULA and do not replace it. If the two conflict about your licence to use the app, the Apple EULA wins.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. When you sign up, the app asks for your year of birth to check this and does not keep it. If you are under 13, please do not use Squeeeks. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we will delete it.
You can create an account with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity on your account. Do not choose a display name that is offensive or impersonates someone else.
You can join a family and post messages in its chat. Everything you post can be read by every member of that family. Messages pass through an automatic word filter, but no filter catches everything.
If another player or a message bothers you, use Report to tell us and Block to stop that player contacting you. We read reports and act on them. That can mean removing content and suspending or removing the account that posted it.
We may remove content and suspend or remove accounts that break these rules.
Squeeeks offers optional in-app purchases and auto-renewing subscriptions. All payments are processed by Apple through your App Store account.
The app is ours. Squeeeks, its name, its artwork, characters, music, animations, code and design are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and other laws. Your right to use the app comes from the Apple EULA described above. It is personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable, and it does not give you ownership of anything in the app. Do not copy, sell, rent, reverse-engineer, or make derivative works from the app or its assets, except where the law says you may despite this paragraph.
What you make stays yours. The house layouts you build, the display name you choose and anything else you create in the app remain yours. So that the game can work, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store your creations, to show them back to you across your devices, and to display them to friends you have accepted. That licence exists only to run the features you are using, and it ends when you delete the content or your account — except for copies that persist briefly in backups, as described in our Privacy Policy.
If you send us feedback or a suggestion, we may use it to improve Squeeeks without owing you anything for it.
Squeeeks is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, that faults will be fixed, or that it will meet your particular expectations. Features may change or be discontinued. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties that are not written down here, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We are not liable for lost game progress, though we take reasonable care to prevent it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost game progress, arising out of your use of Squeeeks — even if we were told such damages were possible.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Squeeeks in the twelve months before the claim arose, or US$50.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have that cannot be taken away. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law of your country does not allow to be excluded. If you are a consumer, you keep the full benefit of your local consumer protection law, and the paragraphs above apply only as far as that law permits.
If someone brings a claim against us because of the way you used Squeeeks — because you broke these terms, broke the law, or infringed someone else's rights — you agree to cover our reasonable losses, damages and legal costs arising from it. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and will not settle it without asking you first. This does not apply to the extent the claim is our fault, and it applies only as far as the law where you live allows.
You can stop using Squeeeks at any time and delete your account from Settings → Account & Data → Delete account.
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the app. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will give you notice first. If we end your access for a reason that is not your fault, you may be entitled to a refund of unused paid time through Apple. Sections that by their nature should outlive the agreement — ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and the governing-law section — continue to apply after it ends.
These terms may be updated. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new date.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and disputes will be heard there.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you may be able to bring proceedings in your local courts regardless of what this section says. Before starting formal proceedings, please email us — most problems are quicker to solve that way.
